Tony Trousset is the Founder and Managing Director of Atlas Technology Group, LLC, a leading independent M&A advisory firm he established in November 2009 (with operations commencing in 2010). With over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, Mr. Trousset has had a distinguished career as an investment banker, venture capitalist, and corporate executive, specializing in mergers and acquisitions for software companies and software-focused private equity firms.
Atlas Technology Group, headquartered in Menlo Park/Palo Alto, California, provides independent M&A advice to software companies and technology-focused private equity firms. The firm advises on the full range of strategic transactions, including mergers, private placements, sell-side and buy-side advisory, leveraged buyouts, spin-offs, and divestitures. As of October 2025, Atlas has facilitated over 136 deals, comprising 113 M&A transactions and 23 funding rounds. The firm's team includes approximately 38–43 professionals, with all Managing Directors having extensive experience as senior technology bankers, research analysts, and public and private equity investors.
Notable transactions facilitated by Tony Trousset and Atlas Technology Group include the billion-dollar sale of Ventyx to ABB (Asea Brown Boveri), RedPrairie Corporation's acquisition of SmartTurn, the sale of Finest City Broadcasting to Thoma Bravo's Local Media of America (LMA), the acquisition of PacketTrap by Quest Software Inc., advisory work for Trilogy Software on numerous acquisitions, the sale of ATADATA to Deloitte, the acquisition of FatTail by Chartbeat (2024), and the $300 million Series C funding round for HighRadius. Atlas has worked extensively with leading private equity firms including Thoma Bravo, Vista Equity Partners, HG Capital, and Lead Edge Capital.
Prior to founding Atlas, Mr. Trousset served as Managing Director and Head of Software Industry Investment Banking for the Technology Group at Lehman Brothers (July 2005–2008). At Lehman Brothers, he also served as Global Head of Software Investment Banking and Co-Head of the West Coast Technology Investment Banking Group.
Before Lehman Brothers, Mr. Trousset was Managing Director and Global Head of Software Investment Banking at UBS AG (2001–2005), where he focused on advising technology clients on strategic transactions.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Trousset spent four years as Vice President in the Investment Banking Division at Credit Suisse First Boston (1996–2000), a leading provider of advisory services to institutional and private clients worldwide.
In 2000, Mr. Trousset co-founded Bluevector LLC (also known as Bluevector Ventures), a technology-focused venture capital firm, where he served as Founder and Partner until 2009. While a partner at the venture capital firm, he simultaneously worked at UBS AG and later Lehman Brothers.
Mr. Trousset has also served as Vice President and Head of Corporate Development at SAS Institute, Inc., the world's largest privately held software company.
Throughout his investment banking career, Mr. Trousset played a key role in numerous high-profile IPOs, including those for Google, Salesforce.com, and NetScreen. He has managed M&A transactions for companies such as Cadence Design Systems, Red Hat, SAP, Salesforce.com, Skillsoft, and Epiphany. He has also worked on financing transactions for companies including Red Hat, Documentum, Serena Software, Mercury Interactive, and Wind River.
As a venture capitalist, Mr. Trousset has invested in and worked with numerous technology companies with successful exits, including Top Tier (sold to SAP for $400 million), Mimecom/Totality (sold to MCI), Lassologic (sold to SonicWall), PacketTrap, Vizible, Gauda, and Virtual Software. He maintains significant relationships with top buyers of technology companies as well as leading venture capital and private equity firms.
Mr. Trousset has served as a Director of I.D. Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: IDSY, now PowerFleet, Inc., NASDAQ: AIOT) since June 20, 2014. I.D. Systems is a global provider of wireless IoT and M2M solutions for fleet management, asset tracking, and industrial vehicle management. The company acquired Pointer Telocation in 2019 and rebranded as PowerFleet.
A California native and father of three, Mr. Trousset served as a member of the Board of Governors of the San Francisco Symphony for 12 years (2007–2018). The San Francisco Symphony is one of the nation's premier orchestras and a major cultural institution serving the Bay Area community.
Mr. Trousset also serves on the Advisory Board of Loop AI Group, a cognitive computing company.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master of Arts degree in Education, both from Stanford University. He resides in San Francisco, California.
