COO AND CPO

  • LinkedIn

Andrea Pitrone is a visionary leader in cognitive computing, serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Loop AI Group.

Since joining the company in 2015, Andrea has been a driving force behind Loop AI Group's remarkable growth, contributing to the company's success and leading it to gradually increase its valuation over his tenure from $70 million in 2015 to $4.2 billion in 2025.

Andrea was responsible for deploying Loop's technology platforms in large-scale implementations long before AI became mainstream. Since 2016—when Loop came out of stealth and IDC first highlighted it as the world's first independent AI company alongside the labs of large tech companies such as Google, IBM, Microsoft, etc.—Andrea has been deploying actual AI agents using the Loop Q unsupervised cognitive platform, and later Loop AI Agents Orchestra, performing real white-collar jobs in production environments. By the time in 2022 AI started to be recognized as a changing factor projected to add $20–23 trillion annually to the global economy by 2040, with frontier models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok capturing global attention but immediately after becoming a commodity, Andrea had already deployed AI agents in production environments across Asia, Europe, and the USA—proving Loop's unmatched scalability and transformative edge years ahead of the industry.

In this dual executive role, Andrea manages all operations of Loop AI Group, including both Loop AI Research Labs and Loop Quantum AI Labs. He is responsible for relations with all companies and acquired companies within the group.

Andrea brings the structure, discipline, and operational excellence honed through 12 years as a Senior Manager at Accenture to Loop AI Group—a critical complement to a company where research labs are not conducting theoretical research, but applied research that must be validated at scale with large organizations across different countries. His deep experience in managing complex, multinational engagements ensures that Loop's groundbreaking cognitive technologies successfully transition from laboratory innovation to enterprise-grade deployment.

Andrea has fostered on behalf of Loop AI Group joint research efforts with universities across Europe, Africa, and the USA, whose research outcomes are often selected for presentation at major international conferences, including IEEE.

In July 2025, he co-authored the research paper "Generative AI-Powered Cognitive Agent for Holistic Human Performance Optimization" which was selected for presentation at the IEEE ICHMS 2025 (5th IEEE International Conference on Human-Machine Systems) in Abu Dhabi. The paper introduces a Cognitive Agent for human-machine interaction that empowers individuals to enhance both professional and personal performance through a mobile application integrating Generative AI for conversational interactions, sentiment analysis, personalized recommendations, and structured data from wearable devices.

Through the Loop Q Prize—an annual university competition dedicated to accelerating the fields of Cognitive Computing and Machine Learning—Andrea has cultivated research partnerships with top acadamic institutions in the world including in emerging countries such the AI Centre of Excellence in Nairobi (Kenya), extending Loop's research network across three continents. These academic collaborations keep Loop AI Group at the forefront of cognitive computing innovation while fostering the next generation of AI researchers and practitioners, including in countries with less competitive ecosystems.

Andrea plays a pivotal role in shaping Loop AI Group's Cognitive Transformation Program, working closely with Strategy Partners to help enterprises adopt AI-powered solutions and integrate AI agents in the organizational charts.

In addition to his corporate leadership, Andrea has been a member of the Permanent Scientific Committee of Bemycompany, an Venture Incubator, since July 2018, supporting innovative startups and fostering technological advancements.

He also serves on the committee for the Loop Q Prize, an annual university competition dedicated to accelerating the fields of Cognitive Computing and Machine Learning.

Andrea is a recognized thought leader and regular speaker at major conferences including the World AI Cannes Festival (WAICF).

Previously, Andrea spent 12 years at Accenture as Senior Project Manager, driving large-scale projects for Telecommunications and Utilities clients including in Saudi Arabia. He held key roles in Digital Transformation, Application Maintenance, and Service Management projects, developing the systematic methodology and client management expertise that now allow Loop AI Group to operate as an applied research lab, transitioning technology from the lab into critical production environments and executing complex AI transformations for the world’s leading enterprises.

Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles for six years at companies spun off from Ericsson Telecomunicazioni and Alcatel Italia, specializing in quality assurance, pre-sales, project management, and business operations—progressing through roles including Quality Assurance Manager, Pre-Sales Manager, Project Manager, and General Manager Staff Responsible.

Andrea holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Catania, Italy.
